200 converge for today’s Linda swimming gala

TWENTY schools and clubs, comprising over 200 swimmers, have entered the Linda Country Club swimming gala that will be held today at Namugongo.

TWENTY schools and clubs, comprising over 200 swimmers, have entered the Linda Country Club swimming gala that will be held today at Namugongo.
“The entries for the event are overwhelming and we are still receiving more,†William Mukiibi, organiser of the gala said.
Nico Insurance have committed Sh1.7m to the gala, together with Family Insurance Services.
The event is being organised for the official opening of Linda Country Club in Namugongo. It is owned by Wilson Lubega.
“I want to help in developing the sport in the country especially in the schools. That is why I am holding this event to this magnitude,†Lubega said.
Schools and clubs that have entered include International School of Uganda(ISU),Winston Academy, Dicholas Day and Boarding Primary School, Bright Future Primary School, Green Hill Academy, Lohana Academy, Jinja Club, Makerere University, Makerere University Business School, Kyambogo University, Makerere Inter Youth, Kabojja School, Vienna College, Waterford Nursery School, White Angels Nursery School, Waterford Primary School,Naalya Primary School.
Uganda Swimming Federation will handle the event and use FINA rules for the gala.
