President Yoweri Museveni will preside over this year’s Investor of the Year Awards, Uganda Investment Authority’s (UIA) executive director has said.

“We have invited him to come and show the Government’s commitment towards improving the investment climate and offering more incentives to investors,” Dr Maggie Kigozi said.

Kigozi said 23 projects had successfully taken off during the last one year and were competing for the awards that will be given out on November 25 at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala.

“Monitoring by the panel of judges has been completed. Marks have already been awarded in 10 areas like capital investments, job creation, corporate social responsibility and introduction of new technologies,” she said in an interview on Tuesday.

Kigozi said many of the companies competing for awards are owned by Ugandans.
