By Vincent C. Ogwang The Soroti district executive recently approved 110 sub-projects worth sh1b under the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund.

A statement from the district technical officer, James Ebitu, said the approved projects were categorised under the Vulnerable Group, Support for Community Development initiative and Community Reconciliation and Conflict Management.

Ebitu said the money would be given directly to the beneficiary communities.

This brings to sh51b, the money disbursed to Soroti district under the NUSAF project. He said sh8.6b had been earmarked for the district for the five-year development programme.

Ebitu cautioned the beneficiaries on accountability and transparency.

He said the basis for the continuity of funding under NUSAF and programmes was good accountability for the disbursed funds.
