<b>No toilets<br>ENTEBBE </b>— About 1,250 people in the islands of Bussi, Zzinga and Kava-enyanja in Entebbe have a unique problem with their human waste.

— About 1,250 people in the islands of Bussi, Zzinga and Kava-enyanja in Entebbe have a unique problem with their human waste. “All the toilets they construct fall in due to the nature of soils”, Busiro South MP Joseph Balikuddembe said. He called upon government to construct for them eco-san toilets which require sh800,000 each to construct. The islands currently have only eight toilets between them.

— Universities which initiate health science programmes may have reason to smile. The state minister for Primary Health Care, Dr. Alex Kamugisha has said government was ready to assist any private university that would venture healthwise. He was launching the Save The Mother (STM) organisation, a science leadership union at Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

Immunisation planned
MUKONO
— OVER 40,000 children, between the ages of nine months to one year, are to be immunised for measles in the district. The three weeks campaign was announced by the District Director for Health Services (DDHS) Dr. Elly Tumushabe. He also disclosed that other activities will include immunising over 160,000 pregnant women with Tetanus Toxoid vaccine, de-worming and availing vitamin A to children between ages of 1-14 years. Tumushabe urged sub county leaders to combine efforts with district health workers to ensure that the campaign is successful.
