FUFA to appoint committees today

NAMING the various FUFA standing committees will be the highlight on the agenda as the new soccer governing body - FUFA - executive meets for the first time at the FUFA House in Mengo today.

NAMING the various FUFA standing committees will be the highlight on the agenda as the new soccer governing body - FUFA - executive meets for the first time at the FUFA House in Mengo today.
The meeting is set to start at 11am as the new executive waits for the normalisation committee to communicate to them a date for the hand over ceremony.
“What I can say is that the executive is set to meet tomorrow (today). For the hand over, we are not sure as we have failed to communicate with members of the normalisation committee,†FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa said.
Mulindwa said that the kick off of the league is also on the agenda, but failure of the normalisation committee to hand over has left the workers in suspense whether they will be paid their salary arrears before Christmas.
“We have to act in a more refined way. We do not know how much they are demanding and what is on ground. Until the normalisation committee hands over all the files officially. We will see what the executive can do.â€
Normalisation committee head Dr James Sekajugo had hinted of the hand over not later than December 31, the day the normalisation committee term of office expires as per the road map to normalcy.
“It might be postponed from Thursday. What we are looking at is to not over stay our time in office. You are aware that our time ends on December 31st,†said Sekajugo on Tuesday.
Mulindwa was elected FUFA president unopposed on Saturday and appointed his executive committee immediately.
