TONY Mawejje dispensed a timely Christmas gift to his latest employers with two strikes that helped Police FC to their Champion a Champions win over URA yesterday.
The former KCC FC midfielder lived up to expectations, curling home a 25-yard free-kick after URA’s defender David Kazibwe fouled Geoffrey Massa yards outside the box.
Mawejje, minutes later stretched Police’s lead from the penalty spot following yet another clumsy tackle from Kazibwe. David Kiwanuka had given URA the lead.
Meanwhile, Uganda will have to contain Senegal’s star-studded side in the LG Cup following re-adjustments made in the fixtures yesterday.
Uganda will consequently play Senegal, instead of Egypt, on December 27 while Egypt face Ecuador in the other game.
The winners face each other in the final on December 29.
