Limuru hosts
LIMURU country club will host September 6-10, the 2006 East Africa golf challenge cup. The annual event will feature Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and hosts Kenya, according to Kenya Golf Union calendar. Tusker open that will feature Uganda’s Deo Akope will take place between March 9-12. Kenya champion, Brian Njoroge will lead Kenya’s amateur team challenge.

All Stars get
TACKLE Africa, an NGO based in London, has donated an assortment of sports equipment to the All Star Football Academy, to help in promoting their talent. The donation was handed over by Tackle Africa official Charles Gamble, an English FA coach working with the academy to improve on children’s talent.

Eto’o pensive
MADRID — Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o is mulling over whether to join up with his country in January for the African Nations Cup or to continue playing with Barcelona in the Primera Liga. “I still have time to make a decision,” the 24-year-old said. “When I make my decision it will be good for everyone. There is no point in saying anything now.”
