This Is Unfair Competition!

SIR — Last week, we were told by our respective district forest officers that January 16 was the last day to move forest produce (timber). We were told this was the minister’s directive announced on Radio Uganda to enable forest officials review running licenses both for saw-millers and pitsawyers. We complied with the directive but to our dismay some districts like Kibale and Mpigi, to mention but a few were by Tuesday continuing to issue movement permits to ferry timber.
Mr. Commissioner, isn’t this unfair competition against us? Other people are working while we are idle! How long is this exercise likely to take if at all the directive is effected by all districts?
