SIR — I thank the UPDF for a job well done but also wish to make a few comments. In your issue of Thursday, a group of victorious UPDF men in tattered army fatigues were shown jubilating after the battle in which Tolbert Nyeko, an LRA terrorist, was killed.

SIR — I thank the UPDF for a job well done but also wish to make a few comments. In your issue of Thursday, a group of victorious UPDF men in tattered army fatigues were shown jubilating after the battle in which Tolbert Nyeko, an LRA terrorist, was killed.

With the hype on the modernisation of the UPDF, I suggest that a lot remains to be done. Don’t the powers that be think that these soldiers deserve better working conditions, including new army uniforms?
