She was speaking to journalists at the municipal main hall on Monday.

Korea to tighten ties
JINJA — Yang Hyong Sob, the vice president of the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea, has said his government would continue to strengthen the existing relations with Uganda. He was speaking at the Nile Resort Hotel after he toured the Source of the Nile and Bujagali Falls on Sunday.

MPs side with Kakuru
Kabale — MPs in the district have resolved to support former LC5 chairperson Adison Kakuru in the by-elections, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, said on Tuesday. He said Rubanda West MP Henry Banyenzaki mooted the suggestion to the seven MPs to create more time for development issues than politics.

Suspected thief jailed
KAMPALA — Court yesterday remanded Everisto Twesigye, 23, to Luzira Prison over theft charges. The casual labourer stole sh2,050,000 from his employer in Kikuubo on October 22, 2003, court heard. He denied the charges before Magistrate Olive Kazarewa.

UK mayor pledges aid
MUKONO — The mayor of the Guildford city in UK yesterday concluded his one-week visit to his Mukono counterpart, Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga. During his farewell party at Colline Hotel, Gordon and Ssenyonga signed a memorandum of understanding, in which the Guildford council would assist the district to set up a university, hospital, four secondary and primary schools.
