TWELVE media houses will meet in a contest tomorrow ahead of the inaugural Who’s The King Pilsner Pool Challenge.
The New Vision, Bukedde, Capital Radio and Radio One staff will invade the pool tables at Club Silk.
The event will pave way for the Pilsner Challenge activities starting in Kampala on Saturday. Singles and team matches will be held every weekend before the grand final on March 14.
Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) under its Pilsner lager brand, unveiled the Challenge show at their factory near Kampala yesterday.
UBL marketing manager Gunilla Ouko, said the tournament will kick off the company’s efforts to spread the sport around the country.
“The need for focus, determination and self-drive are key values of pool which are in line with the values of Pilsner,” Ouko said.
Ouko said their involvement in the event is a result of the link.
The Challenge matches will feature 24 clubs. The top eight every weekend will qualify for the grand final.
The clubs include Park View, Yakobo Joint, DV 8, Sliders Pub, Hot Pool. Their stars include Moses Kiggundu and Gerald Kaweesa.
New Vision will be represented by Raphael Okello.
