17 victims of Mabira crash yet to be identified

SEVENTEEN bodies of the victims of the grisly road accident in Mabira Forest had not been identified by yesterday.

SEVENTEEN bodies of the victims of the grisly road accident in Mabira Forest had not been identified by yesterday.

The bodies, most of them burnt beyond recognition, are at the Kawolo Hospital Mortuary.

Mukono traffic Police chief James Wakholi identified some of the dead as Abdul Wakoba, Abubakali Napuyo, Hamidi Zirabanaku, Charles Lwanga, Alex Ngobi and George Tiziwa.

Others were Private Bernard Bwambale, Waiswa R, Osman Mohamed, Francis Dyogo, Moses Namando, Steven Elogu and Majid Kiulu.

Two adults, Faridah Musisi and another one identified only as Marble, and a four-year-old boy Peter Naffua survived the accident. They are at Mulago Hospital.

Wakholi appealed to the public to report missing people who travelled to Jinja on Saturday.
