LENESIA Cricket Club in South Africa have recalled Ugandan international Kenneth Kamyuka to help save the side from relegation.

Kamyuka has been sent an air-ticket, and is expected in Johannesburg today ready to feature in a do or die two-day league match on Saturday and Sunday.

Kamyuka, Joel Olweny, Lawrence Ssematimba and Frank Nsubuga have played semi-professionally in the South African domestic league before but did not return this season after their clubs failed to give them a better package.

“I was personally doing a lot of work for my club but the payment was peanuts. I am happy that they have now accepted to give me what is just enough,” a jovial Kamyuka remarked. He did not state the figure.

All rounder Kamyuka led Lenesia CC to a better placing in the Premier domestic league picking over 47 wickets in 16 innings and amassing 430 runs for the side last year.

“I have been playing competitive cricket here and I believe I have the necessary form to play in the South African domestic league,” said Kamyuka.

Kamyuka has been playing for Tornado B that plays Pakland in their first tie of the Mawanda knockout. “I hope that they play well in my absentia and get to the final where I should be able to join them” he added.

Kamyuka hopes to sign a new contract with Lenesia CC to play for the side next season that starts in September.
