LOCAL food processors, Maganjo Grain Millers Limited has warned that only sports governing bodies with credible accounts records will benefit from their sh50m package to help needy sports associations around the country.
The Millers acting managing director Noah Malamba unveiled the package at National Council of Sports offices in Lugogo on Friday but set accountability and proper working programs as prerequisites for sports bodies intending to benefit from the package.
“You people, the money is there and what you need is to convince our marketing manager that you are a genuine association involved in sports development and will be able to give accountability,” Malamba said.
Excellent refereeing personalities in the Top Radio super league are also in the line to benefit from the package effective in February.
Uganda Referees Association will select a centre referee and a linesman of the month, both of whom should benefit from the package.
Malamba handed over the February package of two cartons of maganjo soya millet to Uganda Referees Association vice chairman Ali Waiswa.
Uganda Referees association will select the best referees according to their performances during the previous month.
