HOIMA — Women in the district plan to visit President Yoweri Museveni to ask him to stand for a third term. They said this while meeting the newly-posted RDC, Martha Asiimwe, during her tour of the district last week.

New complex
RUKUNGIRI — A sh400m Chief Magistrate’s Court complex has been completed. It comprises two court halls, the chief magistrate’s chambers, court registry, and prosecution chambers. It was handed over on February 18 at a ceremony attended by the LC5 chairman, Mr. Gabriel Kangwagye, who said the official opening would be in late March 2004.

Strike ends
KABAROLE — Lecturers of Uganda Technical College Kichwamba have ended their strike. They explained that out of 22 lecturers, 12 were on the Government payroll. During a meeting last week, administrators agreed to pay their salaries.

Mbarara gets
MBARARA — Ruhinda sub-county has received five water tanks to provide water to residents. The LC3 chairperson, Bernard Mugarura, said last week that the 5,000 -litre tanks were from the Local Government Development Project.
