<b>NPF attacks</b><br>KAMPALA — The New Parties' Forum (NPF) has attacked the Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) and Reform Agenda (RA) for reportedly branding them a coalition of tricksters stage-managed by the Movement.

KAMPALA — The New Parties' Forum (NPF) has attacked the Uganda Peoples Congress (UPC) and Reform Agenda (RA) for reportedly branding them a coalition of tricksters stage-managed by the Movement. Webster Lukwiya, the co-ordinator of the forum, lashed out at UPC and RA when they recently vowed to boycott an NPF symposium on the future of Uganda, planned for tomorrow.

‘No quorum’
KAMPALA — Lack of quorum in Parliament recently thwarted a motion seeking the House's approval to write off a sh108.5b un-reconciled difference between the Treasury and the Bank of Uganda. The matter of quorum was raised by Nandala Mafabi (Budadiri West).

Merger due
RUKUNGIRI — The leadership of the four districts of Kabale, Rukungiri, Kisoro and Kanungu have formed a steering committee to oversee the formation of a cooperation. In a recently signed joint communiqué, the district chairpersons mandated a planning committee to write a paper on the implementation of the cooperation.

NOTU raps
KAMPALA — The National Organisation of Trade Unions on Tuesday accused the Deregulaton Unit in the finance ministry of stifling the review of labour laws which are not in conformity with the Constitution. NOTU Secretary General Lyelmoi Ongaba told Parliament that present labour laws are outdated.
