TWO-TIME Volleyball champions Kampala Amateur Volleyball Club (KAVC) started their campaign for a third title with a 3-1 win over Cubs on Sunday.
The 2004 league started with three men’s matches played at Nsambya Youth Sharing courts.
Defending champions KAVC had a field day in their first match of the season, playing against their junior team — the Cubs — whom they eventually ousted 3-1.
The Cubs were the only team to hand KAVC a defeat during the 2003 season.
Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono earned their first victory with a 3-1 win over Blue Tigers.
Teams will be given a chance to savour their first league victories as the league takes a break to allow the Makerere Open Volleyball tournament slated for March 20-21 to take place.
