FLORENCE Nakakawa was the star of the Kabira Club tennis open, winning the singles and the mixed doubles titles.
Nakakawa beat rival Sarah Vuylspeke 7-6 6-3 6-2 in the women’s singles final at Kabira club on Sunday. Vuylspeke was let down by several unforced errors and could not match the agility of Nakakawa.
In the men’s singles, Jonas Berggrel claimed the men’s title after his fierce rival Andrea Negre pulled out in the final with a strained thigh muscle.
It was a just result for Jonas who had through to the final exhibited an unequalled ability in serve and volley.
Nakakawa later combined with James Kasumba to win the mixed doubles finals comfortably, overcoming challengers Joseph Lugaluka and Sheila Agonzibwa 7-6 6-3.
