BUSHENYI — Ruhinda Police have arrested Hannington Kamurangira, a cashier at Ruhinda Savings and Credit Society, for allegedly embezzling sh1,910,000 from the society. The Police said Kamurangira was arrested after the Kampala-based Co-operative Alliance auditors discovered that the money was missing.

BUSHENYI — The director of community-based services, Nobert Turyahikayo, has said ignorance and early marriages contributed to the high rate of people with disabilities PWDs). Speaking at a recent workshop at Katungu Mothers Union Hall, Turyahikayo said there were 70,000 people with disabilities in the district. He said Ryeru sub-county in Bunyaruguru was the most affected.

KABALE — Buhinda S.S. has built a five-classroom block to increase on their intake. Addressing parents and teachers recently, the school headteacher, Chris Rubiita, said the 200-capacity facility would help absorb Universal Primary Education pupils.
