The Netherlands Development Agency (SNV) has urged local governments to carry out environmental impact assessments (EIA) for all projects to harmonise issues of development and the environment.

The Netherlands Development Agency (SNV) has urged local governments to carry out environmental impact assessments (EIA) for all projects to harmonise issues of development and the environment.
During a recent meeting at Nebbi district headquarters, the area SNV project facilitator, Dennis Mubangizi, asked district officials to establish compensating structures for nature destroyed while erecting infrastructure.
“It is now SNV policy to have EIAs carried out for any projects we fund,†he said.
The vice-chairman LC5, Okwir Amula, commended SNV for its support to the district.
