SIR— I have seen two letters proposing a minimum wage in Uganda
SIR— I have seen two letters proposing a minimum wage in Uganda. I have this feeling that the people who wrote those letters either did not study basic Economics or have lived outside Uganda for decades and know not what is happening back home.
The simple answer is: Minimum wage cannot apply to a rotten economy like ours. Factors like per capita income, unemployment level, education level, GDP, inflation, corruption, industry, etc. come into play before thinking of something like that!
