Passengers from East Africa to Shanghai, China will have a wider choice of travel options following the launch of flights by Emirates Air to China.
The new route which was inaugurated on April 10 under the airlines’ on going expansion plan will offer East Africa travellers flight connections via Dubai to the Asian market.
During the launch in Nairobi, the Dubai-based airline announced that it will initially operate four flights a week followed by a daily service by mid-May this year.
Emirates’ Uganda manager Khalid Al Serkal said the development would bridge the geographical gap between East Africa and Entebbe in particular with Asia.
“The inauguration of the Shanghai route, and plans for a new service to America marks a watershed in our growth plans beyond what many consider an aviation feat,” he said.
Emirates flies daily to Dubai.
