THE State minister for privatisation, Prof. Peter Kasenene, will lead a delegation of government and the private sector for the fourth East Africa-United States Trade and Investment summit, reports David Muwanga.
Ten companies have already registered to participate in the summit which will be held from May 10 to 12 at the Carter Presidential Centre in the US.
Uganda Investment Authority’s executive director Dr. Maggie Kigozi said Uganda had received US investors in the textile sector since the last summit.
“We promote our tourism potential. For more tourists to come here, Kenya and Tanzania should be represented. We shall market East Africa as a single investment destination,” Kigozi said.
She said the summit would highlight new business, trade and investment opportunities in East Africa.
Kigozi said the summit would bring together key government and business leaders from the US and East Africa.
She said they will discuss maximising benefits of the New Partnership for African Development, East African Community and African Growth and Opportunity Act.
