THE Presidential assistant on political affairs, Moses Byaruhanga, has said President Yoweri Museveni will contest like any other candidates if he wants to lead the NRMO party under multiparty system.
Byaruhanga, who was addressing students of Makerere University Kabarole Students Association at the Crafts village in Kampala over the weekend, urged the people to elect their own leaders and express their will in the democratisation process.
“President Yoweri Museveni will contest like any other candidate if he wants to lead the NRMO party. Under political pluralism everyone will join any political party of his choice,†he said.
Byaruhanga, who talked on political governance and way forward for the youths on third term, stressed the role of the youth in democratic process, adding that the country and the Movement regarded their contribution highly.
He said civic education would enable people grasp political pluralism.
