A 45-year-old man, who was attempting to flee after he allegedly murdered his wife, was lynched by a mob on Monday.
Moses Nampala reports that residents claimed Lawrence Wanyama slashed his wife, Judith Kalyega’s neck at their home at Kimi landing site.
Acting on a tip off, the mob intercepted Wanyama, who was in a canoe destined for Dolwe Island on Buvuma Islands in Mukono district. He was pulled out of the boat and frog-marched to the landing site, where he was beaten with stones and blunt objects.
Authorities said the deceaseds’ children raised an alarm when they found their mother dead, soon after a fight with their father.
