PARLIAMENT is commencing its normal business today with a vote on account and a select committee report on the humanitarian situation in the north and northeast top on its agenda.

The vote allows the Government to spend money from the month of June to August until Parliament passes the national budget of any financial year.
MPs will also discuss President Yoweri Museveni’s June 4 state of the nation address that officially opened the fourth session of the seventh Parliament.

RDC assures
Nebbi resident district commissioner (RDC) Betty Adima has assured residents of a smooth transition from the Movement system of governance to multiparty politics.
Speaking at the official opening of GAF apartments in Nebbi town on Saturday, Adima emphasised law and order.

KAMPALA city engineer Abraham Byandaala, who is eying the Katikamu North seat in the 2006 parliamentary elections, has started his kakuyeege (underground political work).
He donated sh400,000 at three different functions in Luweero town on Sunday and promised a FUSO lorry to cattle traders in the market.
Byandaala was accompanied by district chairpersons Abdul Nadduli (LC5) and Dan Mwebaza (Movement).
