LUWEERO resident district commissioner Geoffrey Kyomukama has directed residents not to invite multi-party activists to functions in the district, saying they use the occasions to criticise government from Luweero.

In a meeting with leaders of women development groups on Friday, Kyomukama announced a new arrangement, where organisers of functions are required to forward to him in advance, a list of their invited guests for scrutiny.

The impromptu meeting was prompted by a September 26 incident, in which former Greenland Bank director-turned multiparty activist, Dr. Sulaiman Kiggundu, was invited to a gift circle party in Luweero town.

Kiggundu, who was chief guest at the party, allegedly used the occasion to criticise the Government, urging the people of Luweero to join the crusade to cause change in leadership. He donated sh250,000 to the couple who hosted the party.
