This year’s French and African film festival opens at Cineplex Garden City this Sunday and thereafter shift to Cineplex Wilson Road. Two of the films Ousofia and Three men and A Cradle, will be shown in selected video halls around Kampala in partnership with the Union of Video Owners Operators and Association. The Cineplex shows will cost sh1,000 while the video halls will be free. On October 14, there will be a free open-air show at the National Theatre cultural gardens at 7:00pm. According to release by Alliance Franchiase, there will be a workshop on digital film production on October 11, from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the National Theatre Green Room. Balufu Bakupa-Kayinda, a Paris-based Congolese filmmaker will speak. Entry to the workshop is free all. Among the movies to show is; Les Triplettes de Belleville (Triplets of Belleville) by Sylvain Chomet, France, Animation, 2003. There will be three short movies shwn on the same evening at 7:00pm: Watt, Balangwa Nzembo and Afro@digital.
On October 11, at Cineplex Wilson Road at 4:30 pm, Osuofia In London, a Nigerian comedy by director Kingsley Ogoro, will show. At 7:00pm on the same day, will be Trois Hommes Et Un Couffin (Three Men and a Cradle) a 1985 comedy by French director Colline Serreau.

On October 12, at Cineplex Wilson Road at 4:30pm, will be Ugandan director Steven Nyeko’s Full Of Energy.
Les Enfants du Marais (Children of the Marshland) another French comedy by French director Jean Becker will show at 7:00. On October 13, at Cineplex Wilson Road at 4:30pm will be La Fille Sur Le Pond (The Girl on the Bridge), a 1999 French comedy by director Patrice Leconte.
At 7:00pm that day, Roberto Succo by French director Cédric Kahnwill be shown. The festival is sponsored by WBS TV and The New Vision.
