My first experience with a facial was close to a suicidal mission. As I could not take chances, I sought every detail about the treatment. I surveyed every equipment that was to be used on me. Then, the horror of spending, especially for the experiments. It took sh25,000 every fortnight plus maintenance creams.
I was rudely reminded that the face is a marketable body part and the hands of one, Florence Ndiwalana, a beauty expert at Beauty Tips enticed me. I could not let anyone play about with my fragile asset.
First thing was a lecture about my skin, which is oily. Avon products were prescribed.
Now the facial treatment is a private matter. I was impressed by how the room was gazetted. Then, remove your clothes and lie on the bed. It felt like seeing a doctor. Cleansing and scrubbing of the face kicked off the treatment.
Then steaming. I was comforted that the hot air was vital for my respiratory system. It also makes the skin tender and opens the pores. This facilitates easy pressing out of pimples and healing.
The painful part came: Pressing out of black heads or white eggs using a magnifying lens. I endured, after all no gain without pain.
A mask was then applied. Mine was Mud oil pack. Toning and moisturising followed. Mmmmm! Very soothing. Soon, I was done. The first result was relief from stress. For the pimples, I was to hold my peace. In fact as they had just been pressed out, they were sticking out and I could not think of a kodak moment.

Tips you can’t miss.
The skin repairs at night, as it’s the only organ using oxygen at night. Early sleep gives the skin ample time to renew itself.

The face reflects whatever is on the inside of a person for instance, moods and cleanliness. Therefore, work on the inner self before fighting for outside appearance.

Again, junk foods, alcohol and cigarettes are never good. And you can’t run away from water. A diet of vitamins and minerals is necessary.

Facts About a Facial
It relaxes the face and improves on its appearance. A face that looks like an overused leather belt is not good.

It quickens the circulation system in the body and nutrients are able to reach every body part.

The facial slows down the ageing process by removing dead cells and other impurities.

It makes you look healthier, younger and beautiful. The facial was courtesy of Beauty Tips on Buganda Road.
