Chaos erupted on Saturday at Ishaka town Mosque in Bushenyi district when Muslims fought with their chief khadir, forcing him to flee from the mosque.
It all started when a group of Muslims entered the mosque and stopped Muniru Sebintu from leading the prayers.
“We are tired of Sebintu. We have for long taken our complaints to our chairman, Hassan Bassajja-balaba, but he has failed to take action against him,” Adam Semugabe, a district sheik, said.
The group accused Sebintu of misconduct.
Sebintu, however, said the group wanted to grab Mosque property.
