EIGHTEEN coaches yesterday concluded a week-long International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) Sports Aid Programme (SAP) course for Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) with a call to them to extend the knowledge to the youth in schools.

Mauritius FIVB instructor George Appado conducted the course at National Council of Sports headquarters at Lugogo.
Appado urged UVF to follow up the participants especially schoolteachers to ensure maximum benefits in the FIVB plan to spread the game to the grassroots.

SAP is an FIVB initiative to bridge the gap between the standards of volleyball in developed and developing countries mostly in Africa.
UVF has since 1989 benefited from the course annually with five level two coaches standing opportunities to become FIVB instructors.

UVF president Tom Omongole said that the graduands would be assigned a club duty to help the federation identify volleyball talents.
The closing ceremony was preceded by a schools youth festival tournament to asses the participants.

Appado heads for a similar assignment in Malawi today.
