KENYAN David Odhiambo consolidated his lead after round two of the MTN Uganda golf Open yesterday as Ugandans slipped further down the leaderboard.

Odhiambo, who jointly topped the board with Rwanda based Stephen Katwiremu on day one, had a largely bogey free game punctuated with birdies on holes two, three, five and 13 to romp to a three-under-141.

Odhiambo’s compatriot James Lorum fired three under par-69 to move from fourth to second, one shot behind the leader.
With a Kenya 1-2-4, Odhiambo ruled out Ugandans who have so far fared badly on their own home.

“Only Lorum and Kopan (Timbe) can catch up, I don’t see anyone else beating me. The course is nice,” said Odhiambo as Timbe and Kopan supported him.

Defending champion Charles Yokwe is fifth while three-time winner Deo Akope is ninth.
