Kampala City council will not change its policies despite interference from government officials and politicians, mayor John Ssebaana Kizito has said.

“It has become a common practice that for every decision KCC makes, a politician interferes. We shall not tolerate this,” Ssebaana said.

He said when KCC named city roads, an MP complained.

Ssebaana said when the council decided to sell plots at the old taxi park, a government official complained.

Speaking at the Idd celebrations organised by KCC at the Mayor’s Gardens on Friday, Ssebaana said KCC decisions were legal and whoever disagreed with them should seek amendment of the law.

The function was officiated by the deputy Mufti of Uganda, Dr. Twaibu Mukuye.

Mukuye advised Muslims to be exemplary even after the fasting season.
