UGANDANS know all about ‘overthrowing dictatorships’ but yesterday they were on the receiving end of an uprising from Sudan.

The reigning CECAFA champions and record nine-time tournament winners were beaten 2-1 by a well-organised Sudan outfit.

The Cranes were pretty in possession, particularly when Vincent Kayizzi and Morley Byekwaso were pulling the strings, but with the attacking duo of David Obua and David Kalungi in subdued mood, they lacked a cutting edge.

Sudan’s took both of their scoring chances to ensure a chance to the semi-finals.

Andrew Mwesigwa scored Uganda’s consolation.
