ENTEBBE – The current rains are short-lived. They have been caused by a shift of rain-bearing winds from the Congo Basin to Uganda.

Eliphaz Bazira, the acting commissioner for Meteorology, said although the first week of January had heavy rains in the Lake Victoria Basin, other parts of the country did not experience the same intensity of rainfall.
