Drunken police ‘a security threat’

By Steven CandiaALCOHOLISM is a big problem in the Police which if not stamped out can pose a security threat to the nation, the director of training at the Police headquarters, Frederick Yiga told The New Vision at his office yesterday.“It is a big problem, the Police have a constitution duty of maintaining internal security,” Yiga said, adding, “How are we going to manage this with drunkards?”Yiga said it is expensive for the Government to maintain a drunken force. He dismissed claims that the physical fitness test were too rigorous, saying the tests have no limited time frame.Ends
