By Fred Kayizzi A dispute has erupted over a one square mile piece of land in Kiboga district that belongs to the former Tooro Premier John Katuramu. The struggle over Katuramu’s Kyankwanzi estate is between four families settling on the land and a tycoon, Mr. Faustin Ntambara.Katuramu, was sentenced to death last year for the murder of Prince Happy Kijjanangoma. The Kiboga Resident District Commissioner, Livingstone Katenda Luutu, intervened in the wrangle after the pastoralists on the land petitioned his office complaining about eviction threats.Luutu told the New Vision that Ntambara claims Katuramu sold him the land while in prison. “He claims he is the legal owner because Katuramu transferred all the legal interests in the land to him,” Luutu said. However, the squatters claimed that Katuramu granted them permission in writing, to stay on the land.
