The annual rituals known among as "asapan" are dependent on plentiful harvests of sorghum.“This stage in a Karimojong youth's life is very important but can not be conducted when there is a poor harvest because it involves banquets,” Philip Ngorok, an elderly resident of Ngoleriet, Kangole sub-county, Bokora county told The New Vision.
