THE Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Gerald Ssendaula, has warned against the unplanned population growth in the country.

People should produce children that they can adequately look after,” Ssendaula said on Monday during a tour of the Kazinga Channel cotton area in Kasese and Bushenyi districts.He caused laughter when he said, “The overflow of children is usually caused by poverty.”Ssendaula said people who produce many children are those who have no or little resources.He was reacting to the farmers’ requests for more land from the Government gazetted areas of Queen Elizabeth National Park and Mubuku Prison to grow more cotton.Ends
