Council receives sh12m kit

NATIONAL Council of Sports (NCS) received a donation worth sh12.3m from Uganda Charity Trust Fund (UCTF).

By Norman Katende NATIONAL Council of Sports (NCS) received a donation worth sh12.3m from Uganda Charity Trust Fund (UCTF).UCTF’s Jaz Karim handed over the items that included tennis, squash, hockey and golf equipment and shoes to NCS boss Abbey Lutaaya for distribution to schools.“Our aim is to advance education and development through the provision of sports equipment,” said Karim who promised to follow up the donation with visits to the schools.Lutaaya was happy with the consignment.“We are a country where sports is seen as a luxury. We are grateful that we have people who can help us,” said Lutaya before commending BB soda for transporting and paying taxes for the consignment.“If it was not BB Soda, this equipment would be lying redundant in Europe.” The first beneficiaries are Nabisunsa girls who received a tennis net and youngster Ronald Ssemanda who got a bat.Others are Mbale SS, Buddo, Aga Khan, Kololo and Namagunga.ends
