Buyungo wins tourney

By Samson Opus SADIK Nasiwu and Peter Buyungo proved a class apart when they beat Tonny Lakony and Peter Kamugasha to win the first leg of the National Beach Volleyball Circuit at Lido Beach on Sunday.The top pair showed the determination to lead the rankings 2-0.In the semi-finals, Nasiwu and Buyungo stopped Nasser Balinda and Hannington Nsubuga 2-0 while Lakony and Kamugasha defeated Sam Meya and Mofaht Masaba also in straight sets. Dorothy Nampiima and Harriet Ssali went on top in the women’s category with a 2-0 victory over Sophy Nanyonga and Barbara Nakiryowa. Enroute to the final, they overcame Sheilla Omuriwe and Rachael Mugalasi 2-0 while Nanyonga and Nakiryowa defeated Alice Gitta and Harriet Tukahirwa 2-0. The event, sponsored by Lido Beach Resort in conjunction with Beach Volleyball Council, attracted 29 teams.ends
