FORMER Arua LC5 secretary for security, Yasin Matata Buga, also LC5 councillor-elect for River Oli division in Arua Municipality, has refuted allegations that he has a treason case to answer. Ahmed Angulibo reports that Buga addressed a press conference recently and denied the allegations.Buga said he was charged with treason in 1997, but was bailed out on October 21, 1998 and acquitted in May 2000 after the Director of Public Prosecutions dropped the charges.“In Arua people generally like me so much. I stood in Koboko and won. I also stood in River Oli division and won. I want to tell the people alleging that I still have a criminal case to answer that they are ignorant of the law,” Buga said.
