MP Condemns Early Marriages

By Esther Mukyala BUGABULA south Member of Parliament Proscovia Salam Musumba has decried the practice of marrying-off young girls. “You girls drop out of school and rush into marriage. get this from me. marriage is not a joke. It has failed many of us who are educated,” Musumba said.Musumba was representing the deputy speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, at the handover of Nankulyaku primary school, Kamuli to the community by Plan International Uganda which built it.She blasted mothers for not fighting to educate their children and craving for what they would receive after marrying them off instead.
