By Josephine MaserukaTHE Katikkiro of Buganda, Joseph Ssemwogerere, on Thursday cautioned Baganda against giving orders to the Kabaka. Ssemwogerere said the Kabaka’s decision is final and should not be questioned. He was addressing 21 former ministers who were recently relived of their duties and the new ministers at a hand-over ceremony at Bulange.Ssemwogerere said many people had of recent attempted to order the Kabaka to make further reshuffles at Mengo, arguing that there were more unfit ministers. “No one should give the Kabaka directives. His decision is final. The ministers who were relieved of their duties laid a strong foundation for the monarchy and must be credited,” he said amid loud clapping from the crowd. He said none of the ministers were fired but were relieved of their duties.Ssemwogerere said clan heads had requested the Kabaka to reduce the ministers to a manageable number. He said originally, the ministers were charged with mobilising the people in the kingdom but with time, the Kabaka appointed Sazza, Gombolola, Muluka and Mutongole chiefs to do the work. Present were the out-going speaker, Sheik Ali Kulumba, and his successor, Sheik Muhabuba Ssemakula.Ends
