By Ahmed AnguliboRobert Okusam, a retired Ministry of Public service official has advised the district service commissions in the West Nile region to recruit employees with proper record management.Okusam was on Tuesday presenting a paper on “The importance of records management with Local Governments,” during a four-day regional capacity building and training workshop at Arua catholic centre.“Recruit employees with proper records management. Records management provides key reference for the day to day operations and the database for decision making in the LGs. “It is imperative that administrators, records service providers and records users be well grounded in records management matters to help them appreciate its importance and to provide an efficient and effective service to the populace,” he said.Okusam recommended that orientation courses be conducted for new employees to the LGs to impart to them appropriate records management skills. Participants came from Arua, Yumbe, Moyo, Adjumani and Nebbi.Ends
