Champs Jammers win opener

GODWIN KHISA shot a game-best 26 points as defending champions Sky Jammers escaped from the jaws of defeat to triumph over Charging Rhino in the FUBA 2002 MTN league at YMCA grounds yesterday.

MVP Norman Blick supplemented Khisa’s effort with 12 points in the encounter which Rhino dominated before collapsing in the final quarter. When Rhino took a 11-point lead in the second quarter, an upset was brewing. But the champions fought back to within a basket on 27-29 at the end of the third quarter. In the other men’s game, Bernard Mufutu and Eric Malinga lifted Falcons with 19 and 16 points respectively as their side made easy work of Sharing.
