KABALE farmers have diverted the high quality bean seeds supplied by the district to fight poverty from the gardens to their cooking pots.

By Vision ReporterKABALE farmers have diverted the high quality bean seeds supplied by the district to fight poverty from the gardens to their cooking pots.The district director of production and marketing, Sunday Mutabazi, recently told The New Vision that they distributed over 38,340kg hoping the beneficiaries would return part of the harvest to give to other farmers.Mutabazi said the beans were purchased at over sh55m after farmers complained of poor varieties of planting seeds.He said the quick maturing and high yielding seeds would have boosted farmers’ efforts to fight household poverty and food shortage in the district.
