By Ebenezer Bifubyeka MBARARA District Education Officer Dan Tamwesigire has said the government has donated 8,538 books worth sh60m to 603 primary schools.Tamwesigire said this on Thursday while handing over 7,745 curriculum books and 793 books under the school facilities Grant (SFG) to school heads at Kamukuzi district headquarters. The acting secretary for education, Emmanuel Turyamureeba, said the district inspectors of schools would get eight motorcycles to ease their transport.Former Mbarara LC5 vice-chairperson Emma Boona Kebirungi appealed to headteachers to write ‘confidential documents’ about indisciplined teachers to district authorities for quick disciplinary action. She appealed to education officers to respect to headteachers and assist them immediately instead of delaying them and the school syllabi.Boona amused the audience when she said some headteachers threaten female teachers with transfer to places like Karamoja, if they refuse to give in to their sexual demands.
