THE headmaster of Mulungiomu Primary School in Nakasongola has been arrested over a UPE fraud involving drawing money for 220 non-existent pupils, reports Frederick Kiwanuka.George Isabirye was arrested last week after the Nakasongola district authorities and education officials made an impromptu visit to the school.The District Police Commander, Richard Achoroi, said Isabirye had been drawing sh150,800 meant for 282 pupils monthly, but only 60 pupils were found to be studying.Achoroi said the Police had taken statements from the District Education Officer, George William Baturi, and the Inspector of Schools, Bangire, as investigations into the anomaly continued.
