Kenyans win at Lugogo

By Samson OpusKENYA Ports Authority (KPA) dominated the heavier weights to win the Pre-East Africa Boxing Club championship at Lugogo indoor stadium yesterday. The Mombasa side edged Uganda’s Junior team Tigers by two points after collecting 15 points in the two-day event.Despite the defeat, the U-20 Tigers side heralded a new chapter on the local scene as they pushed a seasoned Kampala Select side to fourth place. Army side UPDF finished third with eight points. Light middleweight Twaib Mayanja was Tigers’ star. He stopped Kenya’s Dick Othieno in round four.
